Bloomberg First Word FX Analyst, Shanghai Job

The Role:

Bloomberg News is seeking strategists for its First Word FX Service as it expands coverage of FX and rates markets across Asia, including China.

Candidates will have in-depth experience covering onshore and offshore yuan trading as well as familiarity with Chinese money markets and government bonds. Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required, as are deep and broad contacts among the trader and investor community as well as among regulators. The individual in this role will be responsible for providing fast and concise stories on FX and sovereign debt market flows and developments to provide perspective on 'what is happening' and 'what it means,' both against the backdrop of local developments as well as in the context of global macroeconomic and political trends.

Candidates must have the ability and market-specific knowledge to immediately discern actionable information from breaking news. They must have strong writing skills and will be expected to develop new contacts and turn them into sources.

The role can be based in Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong.
